Went for a hair cut yesterday. This was one of those local barbers nearby. It's early morning before the shop opened. I was on the way back from kindergarden. But he said he could do it now without for me to wait.
I only wanted a cut without shampoo, yet it still took me about 25 minutes. Not sure if you want to call this a proper service or what, service in Japan is quite "professional." You hardly get the "too bad" service.
Talk about fast, QB house, the 1,000 yen 10 minutes cut isn't my option anymore. Tried it before. When you are in urgent, that's fine but not sure what it would turn out every time is kind of tiring.
Anyway, our topics went from occupation to what's new in town, etc. I mentioned about my restaurant plan. He then told me he got a customer who wanted to run his own restaurant too and is working for others right now while looking for a space to do it. Asked if he knew what he is working as now, he told me that it's about collect bad loans. It amazed me. The everything. He then said that guy was a soft person. Due to his outlook, he requested to have a serious look hair cut. So the barber got his hair close-cropped. I wanted to have a look at this person so badly. How soft he is, and why he got the job, etc. But all these could be because I heard it indirectly, so it sounded interesting. Life is tougher than one could think of.
Later he told me about a new restaurant that's popular now near to the station. I kept the name in mind and thought may be I would go to have a look one of these days.
