At Center of a Clash, Rowdy Children in Coffee Shops.

Right past the sign warning the cafe's customers that "children of all ages have to behave and use their indoor voices when coming to A Taste of Heaven," and right into a nasty spat roiling the stroller set in Chicago's changing Andersonville neighborhood.

Personal experience, I ever saw a signboard at a restaurant with veranda at night in Tokyo, writes, "Pets OK. No kids below primary school.". Trained dogs seems more manageable and well behave than kids, I guess. But the problem here isn't about kids I think. Rather it's the attitude of the "adult."

Can't recall clearly the whole sentence, in the movie Tuesdays with Morrie, played by Jack Lemmon, Morrie (Lemmon) says, the (American) society is getting younger and younger. 30 or 40 years ago, people in their 50s were really old, like when I was a kid, my parents, grandparents, and their friends never looked young like me or the same generation now. Todays the 50s are like the early 30s a generation ago. Where have the old folks gone to, I wonder.

      

I actually have more respect, strangely enough, for American journalism, than I do for English journalism. American journalism tends to be more balanced, possibly because they know that if they go too far overboard, somebody is going to be suing them for millions of dollars. Whereas English journalism seems to be designed to send other people's children home in tears. I don't like it, so I stopped.
